In this episode of Evolving Minds, Chris Foltz is joined by Dr. Mark Zeiler, Director of Community Engagement with the Human Intelligence Movement, to explore what human-centered leadership looks like in an AI world and why leaders have more power to humanize technology than they may realize.

Drawing on over 20 years of experience across K–12 education as an ELA teacher, Media Specialist, and administrator, Dr. Zeiler introduces the IGNITE Human Capacity framework: a practical, story-driven approach to leading people through change without losing sight of the humans at the center. Grounded in the conviction that connection, trust, and curiosity are irreplaceable leadership assets, Dr. Zeiler challenges participants to examine where their systems may be missing what only human leaders can see and what becomes possible when technology is used to amplify human capacity rather than quietly replace human presence.

Participants will explore six principles of human-centered leadership, engage in honest reflection about the cultures they are building one interaction at a time, and leave with both a mindset shift and a practical framework for leading with greater intention in an increasingly automated world.

Dr. Mark Zeiler is an Education and EdTech Leader with over 20 years of experience across K–12 systems, grounded in the disciplines of listening, learning, and leading. A former ELA teacher, Media Specialist, and administrator, he is widely recognized for his human-centered approach to leadership, culture, and system design, fostering conditions where educators, students, leaders, and families feel seen, supported, and empowered to grow together.

As AI continues to reshape education, Dr. Zeiler brings a grounded, practical perspective to innovation. He collaborates with leaders, educators, partners, and other stakeholders to thoughtfully integrate emerging technologies while elevating what matters most: relationships, professional judgment, and meaningful learning that drives enduring impact.
